Some thirty years ago my general interest in silver spoons made in London led me to study the people who made them. During this time I unearthed the City of London freedom of my husband’s great grandfather, Richard Tuppen Tanner, the founder of the family business R T Tanner & Company. This in turn led me into ancestry and local history research.
